David's Lyre : Masked troubadour, David's Lyre is, like his semi-hidden aesthetic, somewhat of a mystery at present. Although if fairness exists in the world at all...
Frankie & The Heartstrings : Interview : Sometimes, (not often mind), you go to see a band with a vague sense of expectation, born from nothing more than early releases and odd pieces of press, only for, by some twist of fate, this band you considered “fairly decent” until now to prove one of the...

Metric : 'Sick Muse'

Metric : 'Sick Muse'

Canadian indie punk band Metric have come quite far since their initial footing after the shock success of Live it Out which spawned chart topping singles including the phenomenal 'Monster Hospital'. Since then their indie styling’s haves been enthused and refined into their latest album effort Fantasies.

Not a stone’s throw in likeness to the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s or Be Your Own Pet, it’s the slick guitar riffs and catchy choruses that have always been what kept Metric in good stead and 'Sick Muse' is no exception to this rule. Emily Haines drives her powerful vocals into an uplifting chorus whilst maintaining groovy yet punchy verses that keeps 'Sick Muse' from being you’re bland Indie tune.

Whilst it might not be the most original or even daring piece of music the band has produced, it is one that fits comfortably in to the bands catalogue and will rest well on fans of the genre.

The latest album ‘Fantasies’ is available now, and the single ‘Sick Muse’ will be release on June 1st.
