Metro Station : 'Seventeen Forever'

Released: Out Now!
Label: Columbia Records
After infecting the UK airwaves with the highly contagious strain of emo-pop ‘Shake it’, borderline tween rockers Metro Station are set to continue their tirade of soft-cheesecake rock with ‘Seventeen Forever’.
A somewhat tedious blend of everything wrong with this American pop rock movement, 'Seventeen Forever' is an unimaginative tune even in the confinements of its own genre barely managing to scrape a catchy chorus. Continuing the bands reliability of techno sounds and little on their guitar playing ability the song is a little bit of a further stretch from bop-anthems of 'Shake It' bordering a more romantic young love vibe, perfect for a song whose title profiles the bands fan base age range.
Still, it might be too soon to call Metro Station ‘one-hit wonders’. After all this sort of stuff it bound to go down a treat somewhere and a forthcoming support slot on Hannah Montana’s UK tour is bound to do them many favours for their fame, but it’s fair to say 'Seventeen Forever' won’t.
