Micky P Kerr : 'The Joke'

Released: Out Now!!!
Label: Modern-English
Yet again the North comes up trumps with this; the fourth single from Leeds based Mickey P Kerr.
Just the kind of song to make you feel good on a recession-shadowed winter’s morning. Or any morning for that matter.
Despite the subject matter of loneliness the song is not sad, a quirky and upbeat soundtrack keeping it afloat. Guitar and drums are the primary force but don’t overpower, allowing Kerr’s melodious voice to shine through. “I guess you take your life too seriously” he croons; yet it would be impossible to take life too seriously when this is in your ears. A smile is automatic.
The artists Kerr has so far supported - Kate Nash, Reverend And the Makers & The Pigeon Detectives are well known in their own right, and with more tracks like this Mickey P Kerr could well be on that same fast track. Although it’s a phrase that’s splashed around with carefree abandon these days, I have a feeling that Kerr could well be one to watch out for. No joke.
