Wet Bandits: Scala, London

At 50 buff a tune, electro disk-jockeys Wet Bandits don't spin vinyl for just anyone. They don't compromise either. A recent performance was cut short after their brand of outrageous electro was branded "just too aggressive". But the West London duo are riding high on a tsunami of hype that has seen them dogged for sets and begged for remixes.

After the crossover success of Erol Alkan, a veritable slew of impostors and clones popped up, but don't mistake the Wet Bandits as just another imitation. As opposed to other wearisome wannabes these boys have got balls. Balls big enough to drop remixes that would make lesser DJs wet their knickers.

Initially spinning tunes at their now infamous after parties "The Mews Sessions" the word quickly spread throughout the electronic underground and promoters came a'knocking. They're an enigmatic pair, impossible to confine to one genre, and judging by the audience of fashionistas that's turned out to see them they keep high-end company.

Their 3am slot at Scala is the first of many lined up across the capital over the coming months, and on the evidence of this performance I suggest you seek one out immediately. So that in a years time when you're stood in-front of them headlining some major festival you can turn to another reveler and say "I saw these a year ago, before they got massive."

But, trust me, you'll have to be quick, it won't be long before these two post-Erol pioneers are well on their way to international superstardom.
